Garden aftercare and development
After all the initial investment, the garden will be need to be nurtured to allow it to reach its true potential. It will require ongoing care and there maybe areas that you wish to develop further, whether we have taken a phased approach to building the garden or you come across new plants you’d like to add to the scheme.
Checking In
I will always send a quick message within 3-6 months of completion to see how everything is going, are there any questions, is there a plant that doesn’t look quite as it should. And am happy to walk round with you answering any questions. However if you’d like ongoing support to care for your garden there are a number of options I can offer:
Regular Visits
Regular visits: I love to see gardens develop over time and am always happy to come back (on an hourly rate) to walk around and go through with you or prune the plants myself (whether this is cutting back perennials in autumn or taming unruly climbers and tying them in, for example).
A Gentle Nudge (email reminders)
Email alerts and garden care calendar: The planting plans are taken and split into a care calendar. This provides a month by month guide, with photos of the plants. Each plant has a few notes of when to prune or cut back in preparation for winter, for example. This can provided as a one of calendar or emailed out, as a reminder at the start of each month.
Finding a Gardener
Assistance finding a gardener: If time is in short supply and having someone to come in on a regular basis would make life easier (whether this is every week, a few hours once a month to keep on top of any weeding or the lawn or even seasonally to keep the hedge in shape) I can help finding skilled gardeners who will take care of your garden.
